Party wall advice
The Party Wall etc., Act 1996 came into effect throughout England and Wales on 1 July 1997 and affects:
- work on an existing wall shared with another property
- building on the boundary with a neighbouring property
- excavating near a neighbouring building
The Act requires that notice of the proposed works is given to parties that may be affected and provides for an award to be agreed between party wall surveyors in the event of a dispute arising.
We are members of the Sussex Branch of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club, an organisation for party wall surveyors, and can advise on all aspects of party wall matters.
